Some of you catch common cold and start sneezing when you take bath in cold water. And you start wondering is there any remedy for it because you always don’t get hot, lukewarm or warm water to bath with.

There are occasions when you have no access to hot, lukewarm or warm water. Such as when the electricity goes out or drips, generator malfunctions, or you are simply in a place where there is cold water only.

Have you observed Indian seers taking a dip in holy rivers like the Ganges? Just observe them closely.

You will see that they close all both their left and right nostrils with fingers of their right or left hand and then take a dip into obviously cold water for a few seconds, remerge and remove fingers from their nostrils. But, you won’t find them catching cold or sneezing.

You can follow the example illustrated above. While taking shower bath or simply plain bath with cold water, close your both nostrils with fingers of your right or left hand for a few seconds while letting your head showered with cold water and then remove fingers from your nostrils.

You will note that you have not got cold. You will not sneeze also.

However, ensure that you are comfortable while your nostrils remain closed. Immediately remove fingers from your nostrils if you find it difficult to breath.

Dr Swaamee Aprtemaanandaa Jee ‘s Scientific Theory and Explanation

The reason is very simple. With nostrils closed, the water molecules don’t get a chance to enter your nostrils to sensitise the nerves and other inner parts of your nose or penetrate deep.
