WHOM TO BLAME FOR INSIGNIFICANT PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN
IN 2017 MANIPUR ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS?
Many NGOs
and political analysts are busy wrongly blaming political parties for there
being just 10 women nominee among the 286 candidates despite women in Manipur outnumbering
the men. It is wrong on the part of leading social activists such as Sobiat Devi to presume the elections being all about just MONEY and MUSCLE
POWER both of which the Manipuri women are said to be lacking in.
The real
crux of the problem is: Local mass media and NGOs have not apprised the Manipuri women of the
presence of political outfits like our ALL INDIA INSAANEYAT PARTY which had vide
the Twitter social platform tried its best to get in touch with the Manipuri
women aspiring to contest assembly elections.
We had set
aside a reasonable quantum of fund for fielding the women candidates from
Manipur in terms of taking care of the cash required for SECURITY DEPOSIT needed
for filing the assembly election nomination form plus a modest sum for publicity
campaign. We had in place a well thought-out effective strategy to help the
selected women Manipuri women candidates win the assembly elections with
minimum possible amount of money power.
Sorry to
say, no women or NGOs such as Women Action for Development, Binalakshmi Nepram's Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network, etcetera from Manipur contacted us via either e-mail or our twitter handle
@insaaneyatparty to seek our help and contest elections as our independent
candidates…!
Therefore, the local Manipuri NGOs and
social workers have to blame their ownselves in the above referred to political context…!
