SHOULD JOE BIDEN RESIGN IN AFTERMATH OF KABUL AIRPORT ATTACK BY ISIS-K FIDAYEENS? A Special Quick Interview With Dr Swaamee Aprtemaanandaa Jee
Following are excerpts from a recent interview with noted indian philosopher, thinker, geostrategist, and Geographer Dr Swaamee Aprtemaanandaa Jee in the backdrop of tragically unfolding geopolitical drama in aftermath of Kabul airport attack by ISIS-K fidayeens that killed 13 American marine seal commandos and more than 175 other people.
Q: Former president Trump criticized
Biden Administration boasting that Kabul airport attack wouldn't have happened
if he were the USA president. Republicans are demanding resignation of Joe
Biden. What do you think?
Ans: Look, Joe Biden can only issue orders
to his military field commanders in Afghanistan. He himself can't be expected
to go personally, stand guard at Kabul airport,
and screen each person entering premises. He has plethora of other
responsibilities to look after as the executive head of the USA. His military
field commanders must be held accountable for what has happened tragically at
Kabul airport. Inspite of having been given advance intelligence about
impending terror attack at Kabul airport with Americans being specific targets,
his military field commanders didn't take effective precautionary preventive
measures. They remained complacent, lax, and indifferent. They didn't make
American soldiers screen each person at Kabul airport. Soldiers and their Afghan interpreters should
have been ordered to stay at a safe distance from those approaching them. There
is no sense in brushing aside security measures when you have correct
intelligence well in advance. Show humane gesture by all means. But, not at
cost of effective security measures. Thus, tragic deaths of more than 180
people that took place could very well have been prevented if his military
field commanders had ordered troops to give top priority to avoid and counter
impending terrorist attacks at Kabul airport and in its vicinity.
Tall claim
by Trump is senseless, given the fact it's military field commanders who
actually ensure security and safety at Kabul airport, not the American president himself. So, let's
be very clear. Even president Trump couldn't have avoided the tragic sequence
of events, for he too would have had limitations just like Joe Bide. As a
natural corollary, it then follows that the Republicans aren't correct in their
demand for Biden to resign. However,
Biden shouldn't shirk full moral responsibility and blame Trump by pleading
that he was merely executing the agreement signed by former president with
Taliban in 2020. He was at liberty whether to continue or revoke the peace deal
signed by former president since he is currently at helm of affairs at the
White House.
Q: How to ensure world remains safe
from hardline extremist religious groups such as ISIS, AL qaida, etc?
Ans: Well, every nation-State always has
to be on alert against nefarious activities by such extremist groups. Both
force and persuasive measures must be used to stop them from following these extremist
ideologies. They must be made to understand there is ample room for every
ideology to survive and be propagated peacefully without forcing others to
follow their viewpoint forcibly. Someone has to make them comprehend simple
fact that the current Biden Administration has put past to past. It has made
fresh beginning by being flexible to ensure peaceful coexistence as evidenced
by its implementing the peace deal with Taliban the extremist religious group
that continues even today to be in United Nation's list of designated terror
groups. Biden Administration is trying to get it removed from the list.
Biden
Administration hasn't carried out any preemptive military strikes against any
extremist hardline religious groups until now. Message is very clear. Biden
Administration believes in concept of live and let live. It believes in giving
a chance to others to mend their ways and be part of mainstream humanity. This
is where these extremist Muslim groups have failed to understand simple basic
truths concerning Biden Administration.
Q: There are media reports on Lashkar
a taiba chief meeting Afghan Taliban leadership and seeking their military help
to liberate Indian administered Kashmir. What should Indian government do?
Ans: I have already told you that the
Indian government of the day must give up WAIT & WATCH policy, take
initiative, and recognize new Taliban-led all inclusive Coalition government in
Kabul. Wise counsel fell on deaf ears. Indian PM Narendra Modi and his advisors
used tactics of having an all party meeting on how to deal with unfolding
situation in Afghanistan, for they themselves don't wish to be blamed for any
negative fallout while dealing with Taliban issue. If negative happens, they will
hide behind alibi that the decision of Indian government was based on consensus
reached with all opposition political parties. If something good happens, the Indian government and Narendra Modi shall
be quick to claim credit. In fact, Narendra Modi is fearing unknown and
seemingly incomprehensible extraordinary geopolitical situation in
neighborhood. However, this attitude of trying to play safe shall not help gain
anything substantial from new Coalition Taliban regime. If you don't make friends with your important
and powerful neighbor, your enemy shall
naturally take advantage of situation by mending fences with your neighbor in
order to harm you by impressing upon your neighbor his case against you. Since
you have not made friends with your neighbor, you have lost golden opportunity
to put forward your case before your neighbor. With one sided inputs in hand,
chances are your neighbor shall act against your interest and you after having
been convinced by your enemy. Ultimately, this boils down to how fine
understanding of human nature you have. Going by Indian government's WAIT and
WATCH policy, I don't think they have team of wise advisors with them.
